Tunde Adeleke is a native of Nigeria who is presently Professor of History and Director of the African American Studies Program at Iowa State University. He had his undergraduate degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, and his Masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He has researched and published extensively on the subjects of Black Nationalism, Pan-Africanism, Afrocentricity, Black Biography, and African American identity.
