Sheren G. Sanders is an assistant professor of history in the Department of Social Sciences at Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi, where she teaches courses in African-American, African, United States, Colonial American, and Military History, in addition to World Civilizations and Historiography. She received her B.A. in history from Louisiana State University, M.A. in Social Sciences with a concentration in history and Ph.D. in Public Policy and Urban Affairs from Southern University and A&M College. Her current research explores immigration history and policies in the United States, health care policy for minority women, and African American cultural retentions.
