Sluyter, Andrew

Andrew Sluyter received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin and currently teaches at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Major interests involve the environmental history and historical ecology of the colonization of the Americas. His most recent book is Black Ranching Frontiers, published by Yale University Press in 2012. A past fellow of the American Council of Learned Societies, he currently serves as the executive director of the Conference of Latin Americanist Geographers.
