BlackPast.org now has an environmental justice page that brings together all of the entries on this website related to environmental justice broadly defined as the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies. This page was created with the support of Vulcan Inc., the project and investment management company created by Jody Allen and the late Paul G. Allen, co-founder of Microsoft.
The page has seven sections: Activists (U.S.), Activists (Global), Organizations, Incidents, Places, Environmental Studies at HBCUs and the Ten Most Polluted Black Communities in the United States.
Click on the sections that appear below to see the entries in those areas. If there are entries related to African Americans or people of African ancestry around the world that should be on this page, please send your ideas to this address: [email protected].
